Role of design
Finding relationships between identity, identification, and landscape is a design process that requires collaboration between expertise and local knowledge. While we typically think of design as articulating a representation of a visual idea or a physical object, it can also extend to the creation of a landscape experience-how people and environments can be intentionally brought together. As revitalizing cities look to new ways to sustainably transform, innovative design can help shape and reinforce existing networks and systems beyond the built environment and offer people new ways of seeing urban and natural places over time.

The Civic Tourism 2 Conference is now offering 11 CM credits for AICP members of the American Planning Association (APA)! All eligible sessions (at least 1 hour), luncheon speakers, and tours have been submitted to AICP for approval of CM credits.
Our communities are constantly changing and so, too, is the planning profession. AICP’s Certification Maintenance (CM) program will help planners gain the knowledge and skills necessary to remain current in the practice of planning and continue to demonstrate professional credibility through continuing education.
These CM credits will keep you up to date on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices. It also strengthens the value of your AICP certification, demonstrating your ongoing commitment to excellence to elected officials, community leaders, and employers.
